Ken Calvert introduces new acts addressing homelessness and border security

Rep. Ken Calvert, who has represented California's 41st District in the U.S. Congress since 1993, recently shared a series of updates on his legislative activities and meetings through social media. Born in Corona, California, Calvert graduated from San Diego State University in 1975 and continues to reside in his hometown.

On January 22, 2025, Rep. Calvert addressed the issue of homelessness by introducing new legislation aimed at providing comprehensive support beyond housing. He stated, "Many homeless individuals are suffering from drug abuse and/or mental health issues, and require more help than housing. I just introduced the Treatment and Homelessness Housing Integration Act to address this problem by synchronizing housing programs together with behavioral…"

Later that day, Calvert announced his vote on another piece of legislation designed to enhance public safety. He declared, "I just voted to pass the Laken Riley Act to better protect Americans from criminal illegal immigrants." This statement was made on January 22, 2025.

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Calvert met with members of the National Border Patrol Council to discuss border security issues. Emphasizing the need for adequate resources for border enforcement personnel, he remarked, "I met with members of the National Border Patrol Council to talk about the important job of securing our border. We must support the members of the @BPUnion and give them the resources necessary to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and deadly drugs coming across the border."
