Rep. Ken Calvert, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 41st District since 1993, recently shared his views on several issues via social media. Calvert, born in Corona, California in 1953 and a graduate of San Diego State University, currently resides in his hometown.
On March 5, 2025, Calvert expressed gratitude towards the CIA and DOJ for their role in apprehending a terrorist linked to an attack at Abbey Gate. He emphasized the importance of justice for the "13 fallen Abbey Gate heroes and their loved ones" "I want to thank everyone at the CIA and DOJ who played a role in bringing this terrorist to justice."
Later that day, Calvert addressed concerns about Medicaid payments made on behalf of deceased individuals. He announced his support for the bipartisan LIVE Beneficiaries Act aimed at preventing such financial waste by requiring states to take protective measures "Nearly a quarter billion dollars in Medicaid payments were made on behalf of deceased enrollees."
In another post on March 5, 2025, Rep. Calvert highlighted efforts by President Trump and House Republicans to alleviate economic pressures on families by extending tax cuts set to expire at the end of 2025. He mentioned plans to eliminate taxes on tips as part of these initiatives "President Trump & @HouseGOP are working to provide families with relief from higher prices & prevent a massive tax increase they are facing with tax cuts expiring at the end of 2025."
