Rep. Ken Calvert, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 41st District since 1993, has recently shared his perspectives on several issues through social media posts. Born in Corona, California in 1953 and a graduate of San Diego State University, Calvert has been an active political figure for decades.

In a post dated March 24, 2025, Rep. Calvert addressed the ongoing conflict involving Hamas and Israel. He stated that "The decision by Hamas to brutally massacre more than 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023 is what started this war." He further emphasized that "The decision by Hamas to continue to hold 59 people hostage is the biggest obstacle to peace today." He urged for the release of these hostages as an essential step towards peace.

On the same day at a later time, Calvert expressed concerns about potential tax changes. In his view, "One of my top priorities is preventing a $4.5 trillion tax hike that will occur unless we extend the 2017 tax cuts that expire at the end of 2025." He warned that without extending these cuts, "tax rates on ALL taxpayers will go up dramatically," with significant impacts on family finances such as halving the child tax credit.

On March 25, Rep. Calvert paid tribute to American veterans on National Medal of Honor Day. He remarked on their bravery and service by stating: "On National Medal of Honor Day we remember Americans who demonstrated extraordinary bravery and courage in service to our country." Highlighting his legislative efforts, he noted his pride in passing a law establishing a memorial at Riverside National Cemetery dedicated to these heroes.
