City of Canyon Lake issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.
Applications are being sought for spending Canyon Lake’s share of FY21/22 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) that’s aimed at providing services to lower income people.
The City of Canyon Lake expects to receive approximately $27,000 in CDBG funds in the next fiscal year, which starts July 1, 2021. Of that sum, an estimated $4,050 can be allocated to non-profit organizations for eligible public service projects.
Non-profit groups and other public agencies can apply to receive funding under the program that provide services meeting CDBG criteria (24 CFR 570.201). Please click on the application link, fill out the form, print and return two copies of your application(s) before 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2020 to Canyon Lake City Hall, located at 31516 Railroad Canyon Road, Canyon Lake, CA 92587.
Grants are not made to individuals. To be eligible, a program must primarily benefit targeted groups in order to qualify. Targeted groups are lower income people in particular, but also include the elderly, handicapped adults, homeless, and victims of domestic abuse.
To discuss eligible activities and additional information about the program, please contact Mike Borja via email at mborja@canyonlakeca.gov.
