Senator Kelly Seyarto announced on Mar. 16 that Charlotte Watroba-Knapp of Yorba Linda has been selected as the 2026 Woman of the Year for California’s 32nd Senate District.
The recognition is part of an annual tradition during Women’s History Month, when members of the California Legislative Women’s Caucus invite State Senators and Assemblymembers to honor women who have made significant contributions to their communities.
Watroba-Knapp has spent more than five decades volunteering and leading community initiatives. Her involvement began with the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce and expanded to include many local organizations. She has been a member of the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary Club since 1992, serving as Club President and coordinating service projects that benefit both local residents and international causes. She also volunteers at food banks and supports the club’s annual Lobsterfest fundraiser, which raises over $100,000 each year for scholarships and nonprofits.
For more than 35 years, Watroba-Knapp has held leadership roles in the Littlest Angel Guild, supporting CHOC Children’s Hospital through fundraising events and mentoring new members. Her dedication extends to Messiah Lutheran Church, where she has volunteered for nearly four decades by teaching Bible classes, preparing meals, and assisting with community gatherings.
“Charlotte Watroba-Knapp represents the very best of community service and volunteer leadership,” said Senator Seyarto. “For more than five decades, she has dedicated her time, energy, and compassion to helping others. Her commitment to supporting families, improving children’s health, and serving those in need reflects the spirit of service that strengthens our communities and has made a lasting impact throughout the 32nd District and beyond.”
The recognition highlights ongoing efforts by local leaders to celebrate individuals whose volunteer work benefits families, healthcare initiatives, faith communities, and charitable organizations.
