Rep. Ken Calvert, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 41st District since 1993, recently addressed the public via social media regarding a significant incident in Palm Springs. On May 17, 2025, he posted updates concerning an explosion at the American Reproductive Centers IVF treatment facility.

In his first post on May 17, Rep. Calvert stated, “My office and I are monitoring the news of a large explosion at the American Reproductive Centers IVF treatment facility in Palm Springs this afternoon. As we await more information, please adhere to all instructions from local law enforcement.” This message emphasized the importance of following guidance from authorities as they respond to the situation.

Later that day, Calvert relayed further instructions from local law enforcement through another post: “The Palm Springs Police Department has asked if residents find potential evidence to please leave it in place and call their non-emergency number, (760) 327-1441.” This underscores efforts by authorities to manage and investigate the aftermath of the explosion effectively.

On May 18, Calvert shared additional insights after being briefed by federal officials about what he described as a “heinous attack.” He expressed his condemnation and support for those affected by stating: “I have been briefed by federal officials on today’s heinous attack on the Palm Springs community. This is an appalling act that I unequivocally condemn. My prayers are with everyone injured and affected. I appreciate all of the first responders and law enforcement personnel.”

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in 1975. At age 69, he continues to reside in Corona.
