Rep. Ken Calvert, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 41st District since 1993, recently shared a series of updates on social media regarding his efforts and views on various issues. Calvert, born in Corona, California in 1953, graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in 1975 and continues to reside in his hometown.
On May 15, 2025, Calvert expressed satisfaction with the impact of a transportation project funded by a $50 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. He stated, “More time with my family. Priceless.” He elaborated that he had worked with Temecula to secure this grant during the first Trump administration for a regional project at the southwestern gateway to Riverside County. Calvert is pleased that it is already enhancing the quality of life in the region.
Later that day, Calvert met with leaders from the National Guard Counterdrug Program to discuss their efforts against drug trafficking. As Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, he noted his role in increasing funding for these initiatives. He commented on Twitter: “I met this week with leaders from the National Guard Counterdrug Program to discuss their ongoing efforts to stop the flow of deadly drugs into our neighborhoods.”
In another tweet posted on May 15, Calvert addressed an international incident involving Tzeela Gez, who was killed by a Palestinian gunman while en route to give birth. He criticized Hamas for praising what he described as an “evil and horrific murder,” asserting that such tragedies will persist unless Hamas is eliminated. He called for U.S. support for Israel in this matter: “The US must help Israel achieve that end.”
Ken Calvert’s statements reflect his ongoing commitment to local infrastructure improvements, national security measures against drug trafficking, and international support for Israel.
