Rep. Ken Calvert, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 41st District since 1993, recently shared his views on taxation, inflation, and public safety through a series of tweets.

On May 13, 2025, Calvert expressed concerns about potential tax increases if the Trump Tax Cuts were to expire at the end of the year. He stated that “A family of 4 making $95,521, the median income in California, would see a $2,142 tax increase if the Trump Tax Cuts expire at the end of the year. House Democrats are fighting to raise taxes on families, while House Republicans are fighting to keep taxes low for families.”

Later that day, Calvert commented on recent economic developments regarding inflation. At 19:47 UTC he noted that “We need to take more action to help American families, but today’s inflation report was a positive step in the right direction.”

Further emphasizing his support for law enforcement and public safety measures, Calvert tweeted at 20:44 UTC that “I’m proud to stand with our law enforcement community and support policies that strengthen our public safety.”

Ken Calvert was born in Corona, California in 1953 and has lived there throughout his life. He graduated from San Diego State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
