Rep. Ken Calvert, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 41st District since 1993, recently addressed several pressing issues through his social media posts. Born in Corona, California in 1953 and a graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in 1975, Calvert has been vocal about national security and public safety concerns.
On May 14, 2025, Calvert highlighted the strategic importance of the Navy’s operations amidst “growing global instability.” He emphasized that “our Navy is conducting vital missions in the Red Sea protecting maritime trade”. Calvert stressed the necessity for the Navy to be prepared to project American power throughout the Pacific in any potential conflict with China and called for ensuring that “the Navy has the resources to succeed.”
Later on May 14, he reiterated his stance on military preparedness by advocating for innovation within military branches. He stated that “the best way to ensure American military superiority is to leverage our unmatched ability to innovate into deployable advances for our warfighters at scale”. He urged that barriers should be reduced for innovative commercial technologies across all branches.
On May 15, Calvert turned his attention to international drug trafficking issues linked to China. Referring to an article from The Wall Street Journal, he pointed out that “China exports the chemicals used by cartels to make fentanyl-related products” and noted collaboration between Chinese money-launderers and drug cartels. He concluded with a call for action: “We must do more to stop China from killing Americans.”
Ken Calvert continues his efforts as a Congressman from California’s 41st District while residing in Corona.
