The Bryant Bulldogs, featuring former Vista Murrieta High School standout Lexi Powell, were defeated 8-6 in their NCAA Division I softball contest against the Mercer Bears on Friday, March 13, at 6 p.m.
Sikes Field served as the venue for this first meeting of the season between Bryant and Mercer.
Powell, pitching for the Bulldogs, gave up three earned runs in five innings, tallying two walks and a strikeout.
The Bulldogs will face the Mercer Bears again in their next game, set for Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. at Sikes Field.
